The Medical Board of Trustees of the Dr. Werner Jackstädt Foundation promotes research and training in the fields of ophthalmology, nephrology, and oncology.

Scholarships are awarded for these research areas and are administered by the German Foundation Center within the Stifterverband.

Five research scholarships are currently being offered in the following fields:

• Ophthalmology (especially age-related macular degeneration)

• Nephrology (especially immunological kidney diseases and acute kidney failure)
• Oncology (especially geriatric hemato-oncology).
