EuRoSa symposium - Surgery meets Technology
Robotic surgery has arrived in clinical practice – but its next generation will emerge at the interfaces: between medicine and engineering, between precision medicine and autonomous systems, between the operating room and the laboratory.
These are exactly the interfaces we would like to explore at the interdisciplinary symposium.
SURGERY meets TECHNOLOGY
Friday, 20 November 2026, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
IZDM-Forum, Forckenbeckstraße 69, 52074 Aachen
The symposium is hosted by the Euregional Center for Robotic Surgery RWTH Aachen (EuRoSA), a collaboration of ten surgical departments at University Hospital RWTH Aachen.
The program will open with welcome addresses by the Rector, Prof. Ulrich Rüdiger and the Medical Director, Prof. Joachim Windolf; the closing summary will be given by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Stefan Uhlig.
Call for Abstracts – Your research matters
The program includes six presentation slots each for clinical-surgical (SURG) and technological or natural science (TECH) contributions, as well as a poster session during the lunch break.
We explicitly invite institutes and chairs from all faculties to submit their current research – for example in robotics, sensor technology, materials science, mechanics, image processing, AI or computer science. A direct link to surgical robotics is welcome but not required. The most exciting collaborations often arise where you least expect them!
Please send abstracts and poster contributions to eurosa@ukaachen.de by 23 October 2026!
Contributions may be submitted and presented in German or English. If preferred, the entire symposium can also be held in English – simply let us know when submitting or registering.
Registration
Participation is free of charge. Please register by 6 November 2026 – by email to eurosa@ukaachen.de or via the QR code on the attached flyer.
