NRW Research Data Day
On November 10, 2026, a variety of RDM events will take place under the theme “Set off on Your Journey: Pleasant travels with your data.” The RDM team at RWTH Aachen University, Forschungszentrum Jülich, and the Data Competence Center (DKZ.2R) jointly invite researchers to an inspiring information session at the SuperC.
Your RDM Travel Kit
A research project is a fascinating journey with many stages. Research data supports and accompanies the entire research lifecycle—from the initial project idea through data collection and analysis to the publication of results. Whether you’re traveling solo or heading out with a team as a “travel group,” good preparation and the right RDM Travel Kit will help you reach your destination and ensure your research results remain usable for the long haul.
Discover practical tools, helpful services, and proven methods to support you through every phase of your project. Data stewards, the RDM team, and colleagues with practical RDM experience at RWTH and FZJ will guide you on your journey, answer your questions, and share their insights from the field.
Look forward to live demonstrations, one-on-one consultations, and useful take-home materials. The following topics will be covered:
Funding requirements and grant proposal writing
Storing, structuring, and versioning data
Metadata and semantic technologies
Documenting research processes with electronic lab notebooks (ELNs)
Licensing and publishing data and software
