CSP program - Apply now!
For a better overview, the program now combines all personal funding lines for young scientists, which include protected research time, i.e. a leave of absence from clinical work. The program is aimed at physicians who wish to conduct research alongside their clinical work.
Applications for the following four funding lines can be submitted from now until June 2, 2025 exclusively via the ProFund portal and the earliest start of funding is January 1, 2026 :
Clinician Scientist Program - “Main” funding line
The “Main” funding line of the Clinician Scientist Program is aimed at physicians in advanced specialist training who are also pursuing an academic career.
Clinician Scientist Program - “Junior” funding line
The “Junior” funding line is intended to enable entry into a combined clinical and scientific career at the Faculty of Medicine at RWTH Aachen University.
Clinician Scientist Program - “Rotation” funding line
The “Rotation” funding line makes it possible to learn new research methods and techniques in other research institutions (national and international). The aim is to advance the individual's scientific career and to act as a multiplier, i.e. to establish the new methods and techniques in one's own clinic or faculty.
Clinician Scientist Program - “Short-term” funding line
The “Short-term” funding line enables clinician scientists to apply for protected research time at short notice.
