The “Main” funding line of the new Medical Scientist Program of the Faculty of Medicine at RWTH Aachen University is aimed at young scientists from all disciplines who are working exclusively in research.

This new medical research program is intended to take into account the fact that the Faculty of Medicine has a diverse group of researchers who do not have a medical background or who only want to work in research and not clinically. The aim of the “Main” funding line is to provide young researchers with better conditions for the further development of their own academic career and freedom to develop their own research ideas by funding their position. The funding line is aimed at researchers in the late doctoral or early postdoc phase. All information and the statutes of the funding line can be found on the website of the Deanery.

Applications can be submitted immediately and exclusively via the ProFund portal. The application deadline is June 2, 2025 and the earliest start of funding is January 1, 2026.
