Introductory Infomation on RDM
A comprehensive introduction to FDM and a clear explanation of why this is helpful and important can be found in the self-study course created and regularly updated by the central FDM team at RWTH Aachen University. You can also find instructional videos from this course on youtube.
Please also note the RWTH guidelines on research data management.
At RWTH Aachen University there is an RDM team that will be happy to advise you on questions relating to research data management and regularly offers a series of further training courses on the subject. The open RDM network meeting takes place every 2nd Wednesday of the month as a platform for interdisciplinary exchange.
There are also a number of other contact points, e.g.
- the state initiative fdm.nrw, which offers many events and workshops on the topic of RDM.
- the information portal forschungsdaten.info
- the wiki forschungsdaten.org
For subject-specific questions in particular, it may be worth contacting the appropriate National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) consortium. You can find a list of existing consortia here: https://www.nfdi.de/konsortien/
In addition, there are now a large number of openly accessible offers and materials on the subject of RDM. The FAIRyTales, for example, provide an introduction to FAIR Data. The FAIR Cookbook provides guidelines and examples of good practice. Further information can also be found on the website of the GO FAIR initiative.
