Reformation of science publishing: the Stockholm Declaration
In view of the increase in ‘paper mills’ and AI-generated fake publications, the Stockholm Declaration calls for a reform of scientific publishing.
The four core recommendations are:

ii) Consider quality rather than quantity in performance evaluation
iii) Establish mechanisms for detecting fraud and misconduct that are independent of commercial publishers
iv) Implementation of regulations to ensure quality and integrity in scientific publishing
