Aachen Animal Welfare Prize
The Faculty of Medicine awards the Aachener Tierschutzpreis (The Aachen Animal Welfare Prize) every year. This prize, which is endowed with prize money, is awarded as part of a competitive tender for innovative scientific work that makes a contribution to the 3R principle (Replacement, Reduction, Refinement) according to the zoologist William Russell and the microbiologist Rex Burch.
The prize is awarded by a committee - currently chaired by Prof. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dominik Groß. All members of the RWTH are eligible to apply. The announcement is made via the usual distribution lists.
